Behold an Aston Martin DB4 on Steroids
This beautiful Aston Martin DB4 Zagato was the next step in the evolution of the DB4, and it was primarily intended to
....
compete with the Ferrari 250 of the time. Aston Martin brought the car to Zagato, and they made some modifications that made it an even more impressive automobile. Performance was never a problem, and from the six cylinder engine more than 300 horsepower was produced. Handling was improved, and with the addition of some aluminum parts the weight was reduced.
This particular car was a test vehicle for the Dunlop disc brakes that were found at all four wheels. With this power, it was certainly a worthy choice. This DB4 Zagato has had further racing modifications done like an update to the seats to reduce weight and add harnesses. Other than that, only the paint has been changed and it is true to its original form.
Surprisingly, this original form was not very popular. Few of these cars sold, and only 19 of them were made. Despite that, it has come to be a revered collector’s item. It is not only distinctive looking, but if someone were to dare to test this car now it would still take them from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 6 seconds; certainly impressive for the time.
