Aston Martin DB6 - Changing an Icon
The 1970 Aston Martin DB6 had to face a huge hurdle and the hurdle came from its own camp.
The 1970 Aston Martin ....
In terms of innovations and changes, the 1970 Aston Martin DB6 really stepped it
The car, for one, is roomier thanks to the raised roof line and increase in the leg room. The body of this classic car is also much stronger than the DB5, thanks to the technique used to create it (the body-on-frame technique). The DB6 also has optional power steering and optional air conditioning (remember that this was the 70s, so these features were not common place).
In terms of design, the 1970 Aston Martin DB6 did fail a bit, with the Kamm-style tail that did not really click with the buyers (although the Ferrari 250 used the same design with better results).
But what made the DB6 more remarkable is the fact that it is the car with the longest production life. With almost 2,000 units produced, the DB6 proved to be a success.
