Modern Automobile Production
Looking for an unlikely car that produced unlikely innovations? The Triumph Stag is probably one of the few that can fit those
....
categories.
The Triumph Stag is an unusual entry in the history of automobile production because it was produced by Triumph, a lesser known company even during its time In fact, the Stag was Triumph’s last post war production. But as a swan song, the Triumph Stag was spectacular.
For one, the company managed to produce more than 20,000 Stags from 1971 to 1977 an impressive number for the automobile black horse. For a two door coupe, the Stag was spacious. Many models had back seats instead of just the common two front seats, making it one of the bigger cars for its price range. But more spectacularly, the Stag has power steering and power windows. Today, these features are just common; they’re standard. However, during the 1970s, these were unusual, innovative even. That these amazing innovations came from the Triumph Stag is somewhat surprising and, of course, very impressive.
So why is this astounding? The Stag, because of these modern features, makes for a great classic car. It can still offer that air of prestige while being a decent road car due its space and power.
