or continent. The European market, after all, is different from the American market, so car manufacturers could get away with rehashing certain models from another side of the world and turning it into a new product.

In fact, sometimes, the rehashed car turned out to be more successful than the original model.
The AC Cobra 289 MK II is one of those Anglo-American sports cars, and perhaps one of the more successful at that. The company used a Ford FE engine for the Mark II. This engine is an HO V-8 engine, although it as a more precise steering ability than the previous Cobra model.
