A True Breed of Racing Sports Car
Chicago-based SH Arnolt Inc entered into an agreement to use British automobile maker Bristol Cars Ltds 404 series chassis for the development ....
The 1954 Arnolt Bristol Bolide was a brainchild of Stanley Arnolt. The American engineer was employed by Waukesha Engineering Company when the business fell into bankruptcy in 1939. As a form of salary for his services, Stanley was given an outboard motor patent originally owned by the company. He decided to put up his own car assembly business and was able to own six plants that make several classic car models by the end of World War II.
Obviously, 1954 Arnolt Bristol Bolide was designed and made specifically for car racing. It has a 1,971-cc engine with six cylinders. The car could generate up to 125 horsepower, which is enough to achieve a maximum capacity of about 120 mph (193 km/h).
