An Imitation of Racing Greatness
Jaguar is known as one of the best car manufacturers in the world. But is it possible that the company produced a ....
Meet the 1952 Jaguar Aerodynamic C-Type, an altered version of the Jaguar C-Type made a few years prior. The C-Type was Jaguars first car made for the race track, and the Aerodynamic C-Type was the companys answer for the then beckoning need for a much faster car. Jaguar made three of these Aerodynamic C-Types in 1952 in the hopes of turning it into a race track dynamo.
Unfortunately, problems plagued the Aerodynamic C-Type. One of the major issues with this C-Type was engine overheating. It was a simple problem, needless to say, and it was easily rectified soon after discovery, but Jaguar nonetheless decided to discontinue the line. Instead of preserving the cars, Jaguar instead cut them to pieces.
Since no Aerodynamic C-Type models exist today, Tony Brown from the UK decided to recreate the 1952 Jaguar Aerodynamic C-Type through more than 20 photographs. No car plans exist, so with the help of one of the original drivers of the model during 1952, Brown managed to create an imitation Aerodynamic C-Type.
